Workshop: ZMM & Innovation Quality

An online workshop on Zen & The Art Of Motorcycle Maintenance & Innovation Quality In The 21st Century will be held on 1 and 8 July 2025. This 8-hour program, delivered over two half-day sessions, explores Robert Pirsig’s concept of “Quality” and his philosophy of excellence, examining how it applies to life and innovation today. Topics include the relationship between Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and Clare Graves’ work on Human Values, Pirsig’s place in generational history, and considerations of whether society is heading towards a “Meaning Revolution.” The workshop will combine short theoretical sessions with interactive breakout exercises, encouraging participants to bring their own metaphysical and philosophical questions.

Systematic Innovation was established 25 years ago and aims to create non-hierarchical, self-organizing ecosystems for like-minded individuals and organizations to engage in meaningful work.

A participation fee applies to attend the workshop. RPA subscribers can use the promo code H5RTPFNSOWT to receive a 20% discount on the advertised registration fee. Participants will receive electronic copies of the workshop slides and exercise templates. It is recommended that attendees have read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and, if possible, its follow-up, Lila, For further information see the Systematic Innovation Workshop Registration Page.
