Members will know from our resources & archives pages, that the main holding of Robert Pirsig’s personal archives is at Harvard University’s Houghton Library. Harvard have just announced “50 Shades of Modern“, a new public exhibition of modern US writers including Robert Pirsig, running through 8th January 2027.
Although the official opening reception is 16th September, we are advised the exhibition is already set-up and open to the public. There are also a number of guided “curatorial chat” sessions and other events associated with the exhibition. We’ve had a number of enquiries from members already planning to research the Harvard Pirsig archives, and the advertised events may provide opportunities to connect personally with the relevant curators.
Any members who are able to attend the exhibition and/or events are invited to let us know your plans and report back to the RPA if you can.
